All production processes produce waste and waste disposal is a world-wide problem. Leyform has implemented procedures to reduce waste to an absolute minimum. Typical examples regard the upholstery foam waste, which is returned to the supplier for being 100% recycled, and leather used on the chairs: whatever is left over, is used to produce work gloves. Recyclable materials are selected wherever possible: specifically, the structure of many chairs and the gas lift covers are made of Polypropylene , the upholstery foam is of Urethane and some 5 star base + castors are of Polyamide (nylon).The same is for the metal parts like arm supports mechanism, bases which are of steel and aluminum . All these components are classified as recyclable.

As a general policy, Leyform makes use exclusively of timber coming from controlled tree plantations where the replacement of cut trees with new ones is the regular process. In no case Leyform shall be using timber originated from rain forests.

A mention is to be made to the fact that Italian government with a pool of major countries, has approved the Kyoto protocol for the limitation and reduction of greenhouse gases against global warming: this measure is a further commitment for all single parties, including the industry world, to find out solutions for making this task effective.
